Research and Technical Partners
Academic institutions, research organizations, and cooperative programs serve vital roles in studying Lake Champlain and its Basin. They're also effective in educating students, teachers, and other citizens about Lake issues. Research concerning lakewide problems and emerging issues is critical to implementing the Opportunities for Action management plan. Many researchers are involved with the LCBP's Technical Advisory Committee. The LCBP also funds many projects through its Research RFPs. Although there are many research groups involved in Lake issues, key groups include the Lake Champlain Fish and Wildlife Management Cooperative, the Lake Champlain Ecosystem Team, and the Lake Champlain Research Consortium.
