Aquatic Invasive Species Sail

The Lake Champlain Basin Program and the Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center teamed up with local artist Nikki Laxar to showcase the message about aquatic invasive species in striking fashion on a 420 sailing dinghy at the Sailing Center. It’s an artistic way of communicating about the importance of the Clean, Drain, Dry practice for boat owners.

The sail is adorned with eye-catching illustrations of invasive species common in Lake Champlain. It is expected to ply the busy shores of the Burlington waterfront through 2023, sharing an important ecological message with thousands of people.
