The Lake Champlain Basin Program, Lake Champlain Sea Grant, and the Lake Champlain Research Consortium are pleased to announce the next Lake Champlain Research Conference, to be held January 10th-11th, 2022 at the University of Vermont. In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the US Clean Water Act of 1972, the conference will bring together lake and watershed stakeholders, including researchers, management practitioners, and the public, to learn about the state of research on Lake Champlain. The conference will provide an opportunity for discussion, networking, and collaboration. The conference will be multi-jurisdictional, featuring representation and research from New York, Vermont, Québec, and beyond.
We are currently accepting proposals for session topics, through April 16th. If there is a topic you’d like to see covered at the conference, email email@example.com with a short description of the topic. We welcome proposals across a broad range of topics applicable to Lake Champlain. For example, topics sessions from the 2018 conference include fish, wildlife, and habitat, cyanobacteria, road salt, cultural heritage, nutrients, algal blooms, tile drains, geology land use, and land cover, and ecosystem resilience.
