LCBP Hosts Love the Lake Program: Salmon in the Classroom, the Rivers, and Lake Champlain by Don Lee

The Lake Champlain Basin Program will host Salmon in the Classroom, the Rivers, and Lake Champlain, by Don Lee, on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the LCBP office in Grand Isle, VT. Lee, a member of the Lake Champlain Chapter of Trout Unlimited, helps to coordinate the ‘Salmon in the Classroom’ program in more than 20 Adirondack schools. Because he spends as much time as he can fly fishing on the Saranac River, Lee has accumulated many life lessons about salmon and their preferred habitat. He shares his field knowledge with students as they study river ecology and the life cycle of the salmon they raise salmon in their classrooms.

This FREE public program begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Lake Champlain Basin Program Office and Vermont Fish and Wildlife Training Facility, 54 West Shore Road, Grand Isle, Vermont, located just north of the Grand Isle ferry entrance. Homemade desserts will be served. Come join us and learn more about the life of the salmon from the ‘Salmon Man’ himself, Don Lee. For further information, contact the Lake Champlain Basin Program at the LCBP at (802) 372-3213.
