Lake Champlain Basin Program Hosts Release Event for Opportunities for Action, the Lake Management Plan

Grand Isle, Vt – The Lake Champlain Basin Program will host a signature event for Opportunities for Action: An Evolving Plan for the Future of the Lake Champlain Basin on Friday, June 3rd at the LCBP office in Grand Isle, Vermont. U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy is expected to attend. Officials from New York, Vermont, the Québec provincial government, and the Boston and New York regional offices of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency are expected to attend as well as scientists, residents, and watershed groups. The public is welcome to attend.

The revised plan emphasizes four key elements to help guide the work of the jurisdictions on Lake issues: Clean Water, Healthy Ecosystems, Thriving Communities, and an Informed and Involved Public. Climate change is impacting Lake Champlain. Join us to learn how.

The updated plan will be posted online on Friday, June 3rd, by 9:00 a.m. www.lcbp.org.
