Matthew C. H. Vaughan

As Chief Scientist at the Lake Champlain Basin Program (LCBP), Matthew leads initiatives to improve water quality and habitats for native species throughout the Lake Champlain Basin. He oversees applied environmental research and coordinates the LCBP Technical Advisory Committee, guiding the program’s scientific priorities and advancing studies that support effective management of Lake Champlain and its watershed. His research spans multiple aspects of water quality within the Basin. Matthew holds a PhD in Natural Resources from the University of Vermont, an MS in Hydrologic Sciences from the University of California Davis, and a BA in Physics from Middlebury College.
