Abstract:

This 2015 LCBP LCA project funded the study of an invasive plant species, yellow iris (Iris pseudacorus) within the lake influenced floodplains of four Lake Champlain tributaries.   The objectives were to characterize the infestation and better understand the behavior within specific natural communities, map the infestation, test control methods, and implement early detection-rapid response treatment of yellow iris.  LCA consultant, Habitat Restoration Solutions, led this project and completed field assessments, mapping, control, formulation of recommendations, and reporting.
